Bus operator announces increase to Wishaw bus services

Bus operator JMB Travel has announced plans to increase its local bus service network.

The improvements, which began on Monday, June 29, to services will see the company’s Service 41 which links Lanark, Carluke, Wishaw, Wishaw General, Motherwell and Hamilton, operate up to every 30 minutes.

The Service 56 which links Shotts, Allanton, Bonkle, Newmains, Wishaw, Wishaw General, Motherwell and Hamilton will operate up to every 20 minutes.

These changes have been designed to ensure physical distancing can be maintained due to the expected increase in passengers travelling given the fact that lockdown will ease further with more people returning to work and travelling to shops.

Jennifer Bell, business manager at JMB Travel said: “We are delighted to announce an increase in our services to ensure that we continue to support the social and economic recovery of our local communities.

“We would like to reiterate that our buses are clean and safe to use, all of our vehicles are professionally cleaned each evening and touchpoints are cleaned throughout the day to ensure a safe travelling environment.”
