Bus fire at Glasgow's Fort Shopping Centre sees blaze engulf vehicle

These dramatic images capture the moment a bus became an "inferno" in Glasgow tonight.

The double decker was thankfully thought to be empty when the blaze broke out and quickly caught hold on the vehicle at Glasgow's Fort shopping centre in the east of the city..

Shocked shoppers took footage of the burning bus and put them on social media.

The bus was stopped next to restaurants when the blaze broke out.

Images show huge sheets of flame and smoke emerging from the top deck.

Some debris is also seen shooting from the vehicle as the heat intensifies.

@Scottish_Duggy tweeted:"A double decker bus has turned into a complete inferno at Glasgow Fort tonight. Best avoid the route next to the cinema! Apparently Nobody was on the bus and emergency guys were there within minutes."

And Soph, who captured images of the blaze, tweeted:"First bus on fire @ Glasgow fort."

The vehicle was parked at a terminus to allow a driver change over.

And it is thought a flare was thrown inside by a group of yobs.

Police have taken forensic samples from the vehicle. And it is thought CCTV nearby is being checked.
