Bus Eireann driver praised as 'gentleman' after extremely kind gesture

A Bus Eireann driver has been praised as a 'gentleman' after an extremely kind gesture earlier this week.

He was working on the 206 route through Cork City on Wednesday during a period of very heavy rain.

But instead of making other passengers wait in the downpour, the kind man offered to let people sit out the showers inside his coach, Cork Beo reports.

An overjoyed bus-user tweeted the service: "To the Cork 206 bus driver at lunch-time today: you sir, are a gentleman and a scholar! Even though traffic was heavy and the bus was loaded, you offered to stop and wait at our stop so we could sit out the downpour."

And Bus Eireann were delighted with the praise and thanked the man for letting them know about the kind act.

A spokesperson for the company said: "Thank you very much for the positive feedback."
