Bus driver taken to hospital and three others injured after crash

Four people have been hurt after a four wheel drive hit a double-decker bus in Droylsden.

The two vehicles collided on Lumb Lane at around 9am this morning.

The bus driver was taken to hospital after being freed from the vehicle by firefighters.

Three other people were hurt.

Fire engines, police and North West Ambulance Service were sent to the scene.

A spokesman for the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at around 9am to the Cross Lane and Lumb Lane in Droylsden to reports of an RTC between a 4X4 and a double-decker bus.

"We helped to get the driver out of the bus. He was conscious and breathing.

"Three walking wounded were conscious and breathing.

"Everyone was treated and assessed by North West Ambulance Service."
