Bus driver taken to hospital after being hit by car in Bramley crash

A bus driver on duty has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car.

The driver, whose bus was stationary at the time, was (Tuesday).

Emergency services blocked the road in both directions after the collision.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said officers were called to reports of a crash between a black BMW and a bus.

The driver as taken to Leeds General Infirmary with non-life threatening injuries.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service also attended, dispatching a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance, and transported the driver to hospital.

A spokeswoman said there was ‘no major trauma’.

First Leeds said they were supporting the driver and his family.

A spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that one of our driver’s was hit by a car earlier this afternoon and is receiving hospital treatment.

"We are supporting our driver and his family at this distressing time.”
