Bus driver Craig Hollan Marjoram to stand trial over woman's death at Bateau Bay

A bus driver accused of hitting and killing a woman outside a shopping centre on the New South Wales Central Coast last year will face trial after pleading not guilty in a District Court today.

Craig Hollan Marjoram, 64, was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death after his bus allegedly ran over a pedestrian outside the Bay Village Shopping Centre in Bateau Bay on the morning of August 19, 2022.

The 46-year-old woman died at the scene.

Mr Marjoram and his passengers were uninjured during the incident.

Today he attended Gosford District Court to be arraigned.

Sitting in the dock, Mr Marjoram pleaded not guilty to dangerous driving occasioning death.

The prosecution told the court the trial was expected to take five days and that it would ask for a viewing of the scene to be included.

A trial date has been set for March next year and the matter was adjourned to December for a readiness hearing.
