Bus crashes into hedge after colliding with car in horror crash in Kilwinning

A bus has crashed into a hedge after colliding with a car in North Ayrshire.

The smash happened at around 10.25am this morning on Irvine Road, Kilwinning, after the single decker bus crashed into a white vehicle on the busy main road.

Officers have now launched an investigation into the crash. (Supplied)

Fire crews and an ambulance were sent to the scene.

It is understood there were passengers on board the bus.

It is currently unknown if anyone has been injured.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We were called around 10.25pm on Monday, 7 September, to a report of a crash in Irvine Road, Kilwinning, involving a single decker bus and a car.

"The Scottish Ambulance Service were in attendance."

The Daily Record reached out to the Scottish Ambulance service for comment.
