In a lucky escape for both drivers, a car and a bus collided on the Felling Bypass during the morning rush hour.
The crash happened around 7:30am in Heworth on the way into Gateshead leaving both vehicles badly damaged.
Thankfully, no one was injured in the crash which could have been a lot worse.
One lane was shut as a result of this collision leading to traffic disruption during one of the busiest times of the day.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said:
“Shortly before 7.30am today (Tuesday) we received a report of a collision involving a bus and a car on the Felling Bypass.
“Thankfully nobody was injured.”
