Bury FC latest as 'offers' submitted to EFL after deadline passes

Bury FC owner Steve Dale has received three bids to buy the League One football club and has now passed those to the EFL, according to reports.

Dale spoke earlier of his desire for an extension of the club's 5pm expulsion deadline which would have seen them kicked out of the football league.

Bury were on the brink of extinction on Friday evening but an 11th-hour deal with C&N Sporting Risk emerged, which was followed by the EFL extending the club's deadline until 5pm today (Tuesday).

That potential takeover has now collapsed and a statement is expected from the EFL this evening.

But it has since emerged that three offers to buy the Shakers have been received and now Dale has forwarded those to the EFL.

Should the EFL give the green light, Dale would have the option to chose one of three aforementioned offers.

One has come from former Gateshead owner Joseph Cala, another has arrived via a Switzerland firm, while a third has come "via Bury South MP Ivan Lewis", according to BBC Manchester.
