Burton Albion boss outlines game plan admission ahead of Bolton clash & makes Wanderers verdict

Burton Albion boss Dino Maamria believes his side must go to Bolton Wanderers this evening with self-belief and confidence but knows it presents a different task to their weekend result.

The Brewers head to the University of Bolton Stadium this evening aiming to extend their good run of form. Burton are unbeaten in their last three games and won last time out against Cheltenham Town.

Burton won 1-0 over the weekend and Maamria analysed their victory over the Robins at the Pirelli Stadium. Maamria knows they face a different challenge this evening though when they take on Wanderers.

Speaking to Burton's website, Maamria said: “We wouldn't go and try and impose our game on them (Bolton) tomorrow night. Obviously, you know, home or away, the best way to defend is to keep the ball and that's something we'll be working on.

“In the first half on Saturday we were very patient. We kept knocking on the door and kept persisting. We didn't want to resort to panic mode and start putting long balls in – we were in total control.

“Second half, maybe we turned to the second ball a bit more, which is not the game we want to play. I think we made over 600 passes though on Saturday, and eventually scored a great goal to win the game.

“Tomorrow night Bolton will obviously be a different task and they’ve just got in the top six. They are a good team and they've been together now for two, three years. They're good at home. We know that we have to manage the environment and have control of our own game.

“We've got to go there and play with that self-belief and confidence that we showed last few weeks. We’ve got to control possession as well, so that's not going to change.”
