Burst water main floods parts of London Circuit

A water main has burst on London Circuit in Civic, causing minor flooding in the area.

The main burst sometime after 9am on Monday, causing water outages to the nearby Civic police station.

It's not known if the nearby ACT court buildings are affected.

The burst main has caused minor flooding along London Circuit, with a video posted to social media showing water gushing down the steps from the court precinct to the road below.

No lanes have been closed to drivers, but traffic authorities have urged drivers to avoid the area.

Pedestrian access in the area has also been disrupted.

An Icon Water spokeswoman said crews were at the scene and have worked to reduce the flow of water coming from the burst main.

The spokeswoman said repairs are expected to take several hours.
