Burroughs heavy favorite for US to repeat as Olympic wrestling champ

Jordan Burroughs, considered by many the best pound-for-pound freestyle wrestler in the world, will be a heavy favorite to repeat as an Olympic champion in the 74-kilogram class.

Quick and fearless on the mat, Burroughs has been virtually unstoppable on the international stage, posting a career 24-1 record at the UWW World Championships and the Olympics since making his debut in 2011.

He breezed through the 2012 Olympics, dropping just one round and surrendering just six points overall. He defeated Iran's Sadegh Goudarzi 1-0, 1-0 to take gold.

The 28-year-old Burroughs enters the Olympics ranked No. 1 for his weight class and swept through the U.S. Olympic Trials to guarantee his second appearance in the Games.
