A man believed to be in his 20s has died after a stabbing attack in north-west London on Friday afternoon.

Detectives have launched an investigation after officers arrived at the scene on Watling Avenue in Burnt Oak to find the victim fatally injured, the Metropolitan Police said.

Emergency services, including an ambulance, were called to reports of the incident at around 5pm.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police await formal identification and confirmation that his family have been informed.

They will be supported by specialist officers, the force said.

No-one has been arrested yet in connection with the incident and a crime scene remains in place as police inquiries continue, the Met confirmed.

Anyone with information is being encouraged to call 101 and quote CAD5579/18FEB.

They can also speak anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online.
