Burns, Lowe and Connors out for Ireland against Scotland but Sexton and Henshaw on course to return

Billy Burns, James Lowe and Will Connors have been ruled out of Ireland's final Autumn Nations Cup clash with Scotland on Saturday.

Burns' groin injury that flared up in his first Test start last week against Georgia has not healed up, while Lowe is also dealing with a groin issue that ruled him out last weekend.

Connors is going through the return to play protocols but it has been decided not to play him this week as a precaution.

However Johnny Sexton and Robbie Henshaw are on course to return for the Aviva Stadium clash after missing the England and Georgia games.

Keith Earls has recovered from a back spasm that affected him during the Georgia game, while Conor Murray’s dead leg is being managed and he is expected to be available for selection.

Hooker Rob Herring’s rib issue has eased and he has returned to full training,  but prop Ed Byrne is ruled out with an ongoing calf issue.

Leinster out-half Harry Byrne and Ulster prop Eric O’Sullivan will train with the squad this week.
