Burnley vs Man City: Prediction, kick-off time, team news, TV, live stream, h2h results, odds today

Manchester City can tonight move to the top of the Premier League table with victory over relegation-threatened Burnley.

It has been a fine response from Man City since being eliminated from the Champions League and the successive draws with Nottingham Forest and West Ham which threatened to derail their title bid.

Victory over Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final was followed up with emphatic wins over Liverpool - in the FA Cup - and Chelsea, before beating the Gunners again to blow the title race wide open.

Pep Guardiola’s side now trail the league leaders by three points, but can take charge of the title race by beating Burnley tonight.

As the title race could be decided by goal difference, the onus is on Man City to win by a large margin and facing a Burnley side without a win since February offers a great chance to do just that.

This fixture has been brought forward due to Man City’s FA Cup semi-final involvement at the weekend, and there is a scenario where the Clarets’ relegation from the Premier League is confirmed.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Burnley vs Man City is scheduled for an 8pm BST kick-off tonight, Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

The match will take place at Turf Moor.

Burnley vs Man City team news

Burnley are expected to be without Josh Cullen, Connor Roberts, Hannibal Mejbri, Zeki Amdouni and Jordan Beyer for the visit of the title-chaser.

Former Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe, though, could be available for selection having not featured since sustaining an Achilles tendon injury while on international duty with DR Congo.

Man City, meanwhile, are sweating over the fitness of Rodri after he was forced off late on against Arsenal with an apparent groin issue.

The Spaniard’s absence for this match was confirmed by Guardiola on Tuesday, with the City boss having to make changes for the first time in three Premier League games with Nico Gonzalez on standby to start.

"I think for tomorrow he will not be ready,” Guardiola said. “We will see for the FA Cup semi-final against Southampton."

Phil Foden, Omar Marmoush and Tijjani Reijnders are also pushing for starts as Guardiola could be tempted to name an attacking line-up with the view of scoring a hatful of goals.

Ruben Dias “is not ready yet” but the Burnley game is likely to come too soon for Josko Gvardiol to be involved.

Man City are in the groove right now and are heavy favourites to continue their winning run against Burnley.

The Clarets, at this point, are resigned to relegation back to the Championship and we expect this game to mirror an attack vs defence exercise in training.

City have the bit between their teeth and will be out to send another message to Arsenal in the title race with a statement win.

Man City to win, 4-0.
