Burnley vs Arsenal prediction: Aubameyang to shine at Turf Moor

Mikel Arteta will be looking for his Arsenal players to continue their attacking displays when they go to Turf Moor.

The Gunners have a good track record at the Lancashire club winning four and drawing four in their last eight Premier League meetings.

When asked about the performances, Arteta said: "Yes we have seen that more consistently now since Boxing Day, even though we have lost some games we probably should not lose, but it’s part of football. I think the way the team is playing, there are a lot of improvements, but again there are so many things that can still get better.

"Even at Leicester, having total control of the game but we still gave them two big chances. One they scored and one where we gave the ball to [Jamie] Vardy almost to score. When you make it 2-0 in this league, you make it so hard for yourself and it’s true that the team had a great reaction, they played well and we deserved to win the game. But there are so many things still to get better at."

Here is what our tipster Tom Phillips thinks ahead of the match.

Tips

  • Arsenal clean sheet - 23/20
  • Aubameyang to score anytime - 5/4
  • Arsenal to win to nil - 8/5

No Ashley Barnes

The striker has been ruled out for this match and will be frustrating for Sena Dyche's side. The former Brighton & Hove Albion striker has scored 43% of Burnley's Premier League goals against Arsenal and is the only current member to score a league goal against them.

His style of play and approach would have been perfect to put pressure on Arsenal's defence but this could be a boost for Arteta's side to keep Bernd Leno quiet this afternoon.

Aubameyang will find the net

I know I sound like a broken record whenever I do an Arsenal preview but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is in great form and has record Burnley fans will not like reminding.

The captain has scored more Premier League goals against Burnley than any other side in the competition with seven.

Perfect opponents to find the net again since scoring a hat-trick against Leeds United almost three weeks ago.
