That’ll be all from me – Will Unwin’s report has landed. Thanks for reading!

Just watching the replay of that second goal: Guiu does so well to thunder past Tuanzebe before laying it on for Fernández.

Enzo Fernández, with another bursting run in to the box, has his fourth league goal of the season. He’s turning into a proper all-rounder.

Updated

Burnley had their moments in the first half, the wide men causing some bother when the ball went long. But Sánchez was not required to make a difficult save and Chelsea looked very comfortable once Pedro Neto’s header provided the lead.

FULL-TIME: Burnley 0-2 Chelsea

Broja twists and turns in the area but his shot doesn’t trouble Sánchez one bit. The whistle arrives and Chelsea move past Manchester City.

90+5 min: Laurent fouls for Burnley and Chelsea have a free-kick on the right. It’s played short as they search for the final whistle.

Updated

90+3 min: Bruun Larsen whips a free-kick into the Chelsea area but the visiting backline has looked pretty solid all day.

90+2 min: We’ve got six added minutes. Chelsea are heading up to second place.

Chelsea counter down the right, with Neto finding Guiu. The forward is into the area, wriggling past Tuanzebe and cutting back for the onrushing Fernández to smash into the net. It’s another brilliant move, with the keeper Sánchez involved in the initial buildup.

GOAL! Burnley 0-2 Chelsea (Fernández 88)

That wraps it up.

Updated

88 min: Hannibal crosses from the right … but there’s no Burnley shirt in the middle.

87 min: The clash was between Foster and Chalobah; the pair are up and check in on each other.

85 min: Broja collects, turns and finds Bruun Larsen on the right for Burnley … the move breaks down after a clash of heads in the Chelsea area.

82 min: The game has turned very stop-start with plenty of little fouls.

81 min: Burnley have a corner … but the delivery is delayed by Badiashile’s antics; he gets a yellow for hassling Estève by the far post.

Updated

80 min: Burnley finally get a decent hold of the ball … but Walker’s cross from the right is straight to Sánchez.

78 min: Maresca gets a yellow for showing some anger from the bench.

76 min: Gusto wins the ball in midfield, plays to Neto on his right who passes it straight back … the shot from the edge of the area flies over the bar.

75 min: Some patient play from Chelsea down the left wing concludes with a shot by Santos from outside the area … it lacks in power and direction.

73 min: Stephen McCrossan writes in: “I realise I may just be experiencing post-Scotland qualification comedown but would you agree that this is one tedious game of football?”

I reckon we’ve still got a tasty finish here …

72 min: Hannibal, Foster and Broja, the former Chelsea forward, are on for Burnley.

71 min: The voice of the Burnley support has picked up in the last few minutes as the hosts drive forward.

69 min: Huge chance for Flemming, who takes a delicious first touch inside the area, chesting down a long ball. But he can’t keep his hooked shot down. A reminder for Chelsea that they haven’t killed this game off.

Updated

68 min: João Pedro is in the book for hauling down Ugochukwu; the threat of another Chelsea red card still looms …

67 min: Delap, whose holdup play impressed in the first half, is off for Malo Gusto.

66 min: Gittens has not had a storming game but he continues to look a threat whenever he gets the chance to cut in from the left.

63 min: Santos wins the ball in midfield and gets Chelsea moving quickly; it’s played to Neto on the right, who strikes low with his right foot and rattles the post. Chelsea just need to seal this up now.

61 min: João Pedro is brought down by Florentino on the halfway line.

60 min: Chelsea ping the passes in defence, pumping up those sweet, sweet possession stats.

58 min: Chelsea are mainly working through the left; Gittens cuts in and fires a deflected shot wide.

57 min: Chalobah has moved over to right-back in this half, staying deep while Cucurella roams around on the other side.

55 min: Burnley have not exactly come out racing; Chelsea have little to sweat about as the ball is pumped long by the hosts.

54 min: Cucurella, who continues to take up advanced positions, bursts into the area and wins a Chelsea corner … the left-back is a nightmare to track. Dubravka punches away.

53 min: Delap runs in behind but he’s a bit too slow with getting in his cross.

50 min: Neto, confident out on the right-hand side, pulls off a nutmeg before Santos is taken down inside his half by Cullen, a sliding challenge that has definitely hurt.

Updated

49 min: Walker brings down Gittens to stop the counter attack; out comes a yellow card for the Burnley right-back.

47 min: Anthony finds the ball out on Burnley’s left and plays it back to Hartman … whose cross lacks air and power. Chelsea counter, the move ending with a João Pedro shot that travels high.

46 min: And we’re back, with Burnley kicking off. Dubravka sends it over to the right wing before the ball is wheeled back.

Chelsea make a half-time change: Reece James is off, Benoît Badiashile on. We’ll have to wait and see if that’s due to an injury.

That’s three goals in five league games for Pedro Neto, with two assists in there as well.

HALF-TIME: Burnley 0-1 Chelsea

Nothing comes from it – just the half-time whistle. It’s not been the most thrilling half but Chelsea lead through a well-worked goal.

45+2 min: Cucurella finds himself forward, plays the ball into the area for Delap to latch on to … his shot wins a corner.

45 min: Delap, not for the first time, shows strength and pace to turn and drive through the middle for Chelsea.

44 min: João Pedro is getting more and more involved for Chelsea in that No 10 role; he turns in midfield but misplaces his pass forward.

42 min: “C’mon Burnley,” shout the home supporters, but Chelsea are starting to click. Delap can’t nail his cross from the left after a quick break by the visitors.

Updated

40 min: Neto gets a yellow for some timewasting it seems.

The ball is sent long to Cucurella inside the Burnley area. He lays it down and passes back to Gittens. The left winger delivers a lovely curling cross to the far post, with Neto arriving for a diving header past Dubravka. That’s a terrific move.

GOAL! Burnley 0-1 Chelsea (Neto 37)

They’ve not been great, but Chelsea have the lead.

Updated

36 min: James whips in a Chelsea corner, right into a crowded mixer. Dubravka punches the ball away but not to safety; the danger eventually relents.

34 min: Delap turns and runs … plays in Neto on the right, who lays the ball across goal … Gittens is there for the tap-in … but Walker pulls off a terrific interception to deny Chelsea the lead. Brilliant from the former Manchester City man.

32 min: There was a handball shout against Chelsea in their own area a few minutes ago: it looked like Sánchez had already played the goalkick before it was stopped by Chalobah, with his hand, and retaken.

31 min: Chalobah launches a low, curling effort from distance – but it’s not to trouble Dubravka.

28 min: Walker plays a ball into the path of Tchaouna on the right, he rolls it in to the middle … but not to a teammate.

27 min: … the ball into the area is wasted.

26 min: Tchaouna wins a free-kick for Burnley from around 40 yards out …

25 min: Estéve slides to deal with Neto inside the Burnley area.

24 min: Burnley look fairly comfortable at present; Chelsea’s Santos does well to cut out a long ball down the wing.

22 min: Chelsea’s backline wheel the ball around the centre circle, working it patiently but unable to cut through the Burnley shape. James goes long … but can’t find Gittens sprinting down the left.

20 min: Tchaouna, the most energetic player on the pitch, launches a hit from range … straight at Sánchez.

19 min: Neto is finally in the game, finding the ball again on the right before dinking in a cross. Gittens, on the other wing, launches his stepovers before overcooking his ball in to the middle.

17 min: Neto finally has a chance to pick up the ball on the right, cut in and shoot … he wins a corner. In it comes from James, but Dubravka punches away the inswinger.

14 min: Chelsea look a touch sloppy in possession; I doubt Maresca is a happy man at the moment.

12 min: Tchaouna finds himself on the left wing and he plays a delicious pass into the area, where Anthony collects and pings a shot … another terrific block is required to protect Sánchez in net. Burnley’s wide men are making some very tricky runs in behind.

10 min: Flemming’s fine holdup play sets Anthony free for Burnley … he gets into the area and fires a shot but the retreating Andrey Santos delivers a sliding block.

9 min: Delap breaks free through the middle for Chelsea after picking up a wayward Burnley pass. He lets fly from more than 20 yards out … but Dubravka has no reason to stress.

7 min: Tchaouna finds himself one-on-one with Chalobah inside the area; the Burnley forward cuts in on to his left foot but the Chelsea defender pulls off a fine block.

6 min: Burnley wheel the ball around the back before trying to split Chelsea through the middle. They’re looking lively.

3 min: Some early touches for Dubravka before Walker drives down the right … Tchaouna gets in a decent cross to the far post but Chelsea get out of danger. And now we’ve got a break in play: Sánchez comically boots the ball straight into his teammate Fernández, who goes down to pause the game.

Updated

1 min: Burnley’s Walker is in a spot of bother as he tries to wriggle out of danger from the right-back region.

Peeeep!

And we’re off. Chelsea get us going, with Sánchez sending the ball long.

The players are out and about – we’ll get going pretty soon.

A reminder: there’s no Cole Palmer for Chelsea, their star man’s injury troubles continuing with a fractured toe sustained at home. “It can happen,” said Maresca. “I wake up many times during the night to go to the toilet. I hit my head, my legs, my everything, so it can happen.”

Enzo Maresca says Moisés Caicedo is on the bench because he returned from international duty on Thursday evening, had a light session on Friday and there’s a need to “protect” the midfielder.

Here’s how the aforementioned Burnley win eight years ago played out.

It is a gloriously wet and windy day at Turf Moor as Burnley and Chelsea prepare to reawaken their Premier League campaigns after the international break. The Blues have won their last seven Saturday lunchtime kick-offs, so will fancy their chances in Lancashire. They are looking to prove they are title contenders, and a win today would move Chelsea up to second for a few hours at least.

After two straight losses, Burnley will want to give their fans something to cheer. This is a crucial stage of the season for the Clarets, who sit one place above the drop zone. Home points will be essential for Scott Parker’s side and after defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal here, they will be desperate to show they can unsettle one of the top six.

Moisés Caicedo begins on the bench for Chelsea, as does Alejandro Garnacho, who set up two goals in the victory over Wolves. Burnley are unchanged from their 3-2 defeat by West Ham.

Preamble

Barcelona on Tuesday, Arsenal next weekend. But first, a trip to Turf Moor for Chelsea and a chance to go second in the league. They’ve got two wins on the bounce, while Burnley hover above the relegation spots on goal difference. History doesn’t favour the hosts either; they’ve won just one of their 18 Premier League games against Chelsea, a 3-2 triumph at Stamford Bridge eight years ago. But maybe Scott Parker, once a blue, has something special planned for us. We’ll get going at 12.30pm GMT.
