Burnley's stance on Nick Pope to Chelsea transfer amid Frank Lampard's Kepa Arrizabalaga problem

Chelsea are considering a summer move for Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope, according to reports.

Frank Lampard has reportedly grown tired of Kepa Arrizabalaga's erratic form this season and is ready to target a new first choice stopper at the end of the season.

Arrizabalaga was dropped for the recent 2-2 draw against Leicester City, with Willy Caballero taking his place.

But the Argentinian was at fault for Leicester's second goal, highlighting Chelsea's requirement for a new goalkeeper.

The Express report that Lampard is keen to sign an English goalkeeper and has identified Pope as his first choice target.

The 27-year-old has established himself as one of the most reliable keepers in the country, playing a key role in Burnley's success in recent years.

But according to Lancs Live, Sean Dyche's side have no interest in parting with Pope in the summer.

With the England international recently signing a new deal at Turf Moor until 2023, Burnley are under no pressure to sell the stopper.

Speaking after Pope saved a penalty to help the Clarets beat Leicester 2-1 last month, Dyche hailed his goalkeeper's performance.

"He made some amazing saves, he is a big unit, he won the points for Burnley today."
