Burnley's Sean Dyche speaks on Marco Silva's 'tough times' while praising Everton's open approach

Burnley's Sean Dyche admitted that his opposite number Marco Silva is going through “tough times” but was full of admiration for how Everton played at Turf Moor.

A 1-0 win for the Clarets courtesy of a Jeff Hendrick volley on 72nd minutes saw them climb to fourth in the Premier League table and leave the Blues fourth from bottom after what was a fourth consecutive defeat for them in the competition.

Dyche said: “Everton are a good side. A really good side.

“They had a really good go at winning today. I've had my tough times. Every manager will have their own way to get through it.”

Everton's task was also made increasingly difficult when captain Seamus Coleman was sent off on 56 minutes for what was his second bookable offence.

Dyche was impressed with how his side's opponents remained positive despite being reduced to 10 men.

He added: “It was a tight game in the first half with both sides trying to open up the game but not giving too much away.

“There was not much in the game. Credit to Everton they opened the game up and threw caution to the wind (after the sending off), trying to shift positions and get more movement in their play.

“We didn't get to grips with it for five to 10 minutes but then the game started to settle and we scored from a very good set piece and saw the game out well.

“The first one (Coleman's yellow card offence) is not a great challenge. He's not that sort of player.”
