Burnley launch investigation after footage shows mass brawl following Cardiff game

Burnley have launched an investigation with Lancashire Police after shocking footage emerged of two sets of football fans involved in a mass brawl.

The fight occurred following the Premier League game at Turf Moor on Saturday.

Burnley emerged victorious, scoring twice to beat Cardiff City 2-0 in what was a feisty affair.

And emotions spilled over after the game as the two sets of fans clashed outside of the ground.

In the video, a set of young Cardiff fans can be seen inside a supporter's bus, watching the fight go on outside.

They shout and scream as the two sets of fans punch and kick each other outside on the street.

The fans go through waves of violence, before one is left knocked out cold on the pavement.

Only one steward is seen throughout the whole fracas as she is engulfed by the crowd.

Burnley have confirmed that they have contacted Lancashire Police following the release of the footage.

They tweeted: "Burnley FC is aware of a post-match incident involving two sets of supporters outside Turf Moor after Saturday’s game with Cardiff City.

"In addition, a number of offensive posts have been reported to the club, and we are working with Lancashire Constabulary on both these issues."

Cardiff City are yet to comment on the footage.
