Burnley confirm Jeff Hendrick will leave the club this summer

Burnley have confirmed that Jeff Hendrick is leaving the club this summer.

The Republic of Ireland midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and the parties were unable to agree a new deal.

That will have AC Milan on high alert after the Italian giants were heavily linked with the Dubliner, 28, earlier this month.

Hendrick will also have options in the UK with Newcastle United and Celtic among the clubs already linked.

A Burnley statement read: “Jeff Hendrick is to leave Turf Moor to end his four-year stay with the Clarets after the club was unable to agree terms on a new deal.

“Goalkeepers Joe Hart and Adam Legzdins and winger Aaron Lennon are also leaving after reaching the end of their contracts.

“Burnley Football Club thanks all for their contribution to the club’s recent successes and wishes them well for the future.”

But Phil Bardsley has signed a new Burnley deal today, joining Ireland international Robbie Brady, Nick Pope, Charlie Taylor, Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes.
