A Burning Man Festival attendee faces criminal charges after a traffic stop and search of his vehicle turned up a "large quantity" of drugs.

Michael Olney was stopped by Pershing County Sheriff's officers earlier this week. After the stop, officers conducted a probable cause search of his vehicle.

Police found two guns, stating that Olney was prohibited from having them. The New York Post reported that Olney was a convicted felon.

"Michael was also in possession of items which would show an intent to sell or distribute said illicit substances," police said.

Olney's bail was set at $92,500 on several charges, including trafficking a controlled substance over 100 grams but less than 400 grams and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

The arrest comes as the sheriff continues to investigate an unrelated homicide at the Nevada festival. Police have asked for the public's help to identify the victim who has been described as a white man with a beard between the ages of 35 and 40 and about six feet tall.

Police said the crime appeared to have occurred Aug. 30 between 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

"We are also currently seeking information regarding any suspect identifiers for any person who would commit such a heinous crime against another human being," police said.

The New York Post reported that the man was left to die in a pool of blood and that the attack apparently happened Saturday night, around the time the burning man effigy was lit. The festival was attended by around 70,000 people.
