A car exploded on a residential street after bursting into flames.
Katie Angel Boyd was waiting to turn onto a road in Pinchbeck before the accident happened on Saturday, August 29.
She noticed a red Alpha Romeo coming up behind her before feeling a big bang at the back of her car, Lincolnshire Live reported.
The other car had been in a smash with a Renault Clio, which in turn sent it on a collision course with Katie's motor.
The 29-year-old looked around to see the Clio careering past her with the driver still inside.
“I think the Renault Clio hadn’t seen us stop, crashed into the back of the Alfa Romeo, which then crashed into me,” Katie, from Spalding, said.
“It’s only a 30 though, so they must have been going quick for the impact of the crash to cause the car to set alight.
Katie added: “They were still in the car when it was burning, so my boyfriend told them to get out before it exploded – which it then kind of did.
“There were lots of witnesses, people who were outside their house who saw it all go on.
Katie has been left with aches but is seriously injured.
She plans to go through her insurance to recover the costs of the damage to her car.
The fire service was called to the scene after the incident, which happened at around 6.30pm.
A fire service spokesperson said: “Spalding Fire attended a RTC with a car on fire on Oldham Drive, Pinchbeck.
“Severe fire damage to 80 per cent of one car. Crews used one breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish.
“Crews made one vehicle safe by disconnecting the battery and left the incident with Lincolnshire Police.
“The cause of the fire was the impact of the collision.”
