Thai League 1 champions Buriram United and League Cup winners Chiang Rai United will battle it out for the last remaining domestic trophy of the year, the FA Cup, tomorrow night.

The match will be played at Supachalasai Stadium and will kick off at 7pm.

At the pre-match press conference yesterday, both finalists appeared confident of their chances of claiming the title.

Buriram United coach Bozidar Bandovic was especially upbeat, claiming that his men will prevent the Beetles from making it back-to-back titles.

"This has been a long season for every team, but we have no complaints because we won the Thai League 1 title," said Bandovic.

"We worked very hard until we became successful. We have proved many times that we are a step ahead all the time and we believe that we can keep going well.

"I told the players that we must continue our development and this trophy will be another step for the team.

"We have prepared the team to succeed but we don't want to pressure the players. We wanted every player to play the way they trained throughout the 90 minutes.

"I respect every opponent but our goal is to be successful and take this trophy back to Buriram."

He added: "We have some small problems as Supachok Sarachart and Jakkraphan Kaewprom are injured, so we might have to alter our tactics for the final.

"We will be ready for Saturday's [tomorrow's] game. I think both teams know what to expect from each other in the final.

"I have told my players that our main opponent is ourselves. If we can win the battle with our nerves, we can beat anyone.

"We are always ready for the challenge, no matter how big is the team we play against.

"Everyone must keep learning as things unfold so we will have to find a way of getting through them and win the FA Cup on Saturday night."

Chittawan Chinanuwat, director of Chiang Rai United, said: "This is another important trophy for our team.

"We are the defending champions. We are keen to take the trophy back to the northern region and we are lucky that we have a good management in the team.

"The Thunder Castle have a better record than us but we have reached the final of the tournament again this year. It proves that we are not far behind Buriram United, the best team in the country.

"But in the title showdown, anything can happen. It depends how well we can bring out our best game on the day.

"We are confident that on the final day, the orange shirts [Chiang Rai's colour] will prevail again.

"We don't have any suspended players. Only William has a slight injury but no big problems.

"We are ready and looking forward to the final game. Every player is eager to win this trophy."
