Burglars target South Side homes: police

Police are warning residents of a series of home burglaries reported over the last few weeks in Fuller Park, Canaryville and Bridgeport on the South Side.

In eace case, someone made their way into a home through the back door and took property from inside, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The burglaries happened:

  • Between 4:30 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. Oct. 28 in the 4100 block of South Emerald Avenue
  • At 6 p.m. Nov. 9 in the 4300 block of South Princeton Avenue
  • Between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Nov. 15 in the 600 block of West 43rd Place
  • Between 6:40 a.m. and 9 p.m. Nov. 15 in the 3700 block of South Wallace Street
  • Between 4 p.m. and 7:55 p.m. Nov. 15 in the 600 block of West 43rd Place
  • Between 9 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Nov. 18 in the 500 block of West 44th Street
  • Between 2:30 p.m. and 9:22 p.m.Nov. 18 in the 500 block of West Root Street
  • Between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Nov. 25 in the 300 block of West 42nd Street

A description of any suspects was not immediately available.
