Burglars target South Side apartments: police

A suspect takes jewelry and small electronics from the homes.

Several residential burglaries were reported last month in Brainerd and Gresham on the South Side.

In each case, someone entered the apartment through a window and stole jewelry and small electronics, according to a community alert from Chicago police. The burglaries usually happened while the residents were at work.

The incidents happened:

• Between 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. May 14 in the 8900 block of South Ada Street;

• Between 6 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. May 20 in the 8700 block of South Morgan Street;

• Between May 25-30 in the 9000 Block of South Elizabeth Street and

• Between 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. May 30 in the 1000 Block of West 87th Street

A description of the suspects was not available.
