Burglars target South Shore apartments: Chicago police

Police are warning residents about a series of apartment burglaries last month in South Shore on the South Side.

In each case, someone has broken into apartments through front or back doors and taken property from within, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The burglaries occurred:

  • Between noon and 8:47 p.m. Nov. 16 in the 7300 block of South Crandon Avenue;
  • About 9:30 p.m. Nov. 19 in the 2300 block of East 74th Street;
  • About 9:30 p.m. Nov. 19 in the 2100 block of East 74th Street; and
  • About 2:05 p.m. Nov. 23 in the 7300 block of South Yates Boulevard.

No suspect description was available, police said.
