Burglars target businesses in Heart of Chicago, Ukrainian Village: police

One burglary happened in the 1300 block of West 18th Street and the other in the 800 block of North Ashland Avenue.

Police are alerting business owners of two burglaries reported last week in Heart of Chicago and Ukrainian Village.

In each case, someone shattered the front door windows of a retail store, took property and drove off, according to an alert from Chicago police.

A burglary happened about 4:20 a.m. May 28 in the 1300 block of West 18th Street, police said. The other took place about 4:37 a.m. May 31 in the 800 block of North Ashland Avenue.

The suspect was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and white gloves, police said.
