Burglars steal phones, computers from Gresham businesses: police

Police are warning South Side businesses of a string of burglaries to retail stores in the Gresham neighborhood.

In each incident, two or three men smash through a front glass door and steal computers and phones, Chicago police said in a community alert.

The burglaries happened:

  • about 8:30 a.m. April 24 in the 7700 block of South Ashland Avenue;
  • about 5:45 a.m. April 25 in the 7800 block of South Ashland Avenue; and
  • about 10:30 a.m. April 28 in the 8400 block of South Ashland Avenue.

Anyone with information is asked to call Area South detectives at 312-747-8273.
