Police are warning residents on the South Side of a pair of burglaries reported last week at Hyde Park apartment buildings.
In each case, someone forced their way into the basement and stole coins from washing and drying machines, Chicago police said.
A burglary happened between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. March 20 in the 1400 block of East 54th Street, police said. Another occurred at 10:15 p.m. the same day in the 5400 block of South East View Park.
