Authorities are asking for the public’s help in the search for three people who stole an ATM from a grocery store this week in west suburban Wheaton.

The break-in happened about 2 a.m. Wednesday at Namaste Foods, 1801A E. Roosevelt Road in Wheaton, according to a statement from Wheaton police.

Officers arrived to find the door smashed open and learned that an ATM containing about $10,000 had been taken, police said. Surveillance video showed three hooded and masked suspects moving the ATM to a later-model silver SUV or crossover vehicle.

One suspect was wearing a green winter jacket with a white zipper, blue jeans, a black ski mask and gloves, police said. A second was wearing a black hoodie with light blue jeans. The third was wearing a hoodie with a large Timberland logo, black pants and black boots.

Police released a surveillance image of one of the suspects and are asking anyone with information to call Detective Lieutenant Bill Cooley at 630-260-2077. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to DuPage Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
