*The puppies were found in the Widnes area yesterday evening, Tuesday 29 September.

No arrest have been made and enquiries in relation to the people responsible remain ongoing.*

Two tiny puppies were snatched from their beds after burglars crept into a house in the middle of the night.

The lilac tan English bulldogs were stolen when two men broke into a home in Whitchurch Way, Runcorn, in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Police have confirmed that the thieves entered the property at around 2.30am before quickly leaving with the extremely identifiable pets.

Officers say the victims are completely devastated by the incident and have issued an appeal to help bring their puppies home safely.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police also said that one of the pups has a small deformity that requires medication and possibly surgery so it is important he is returned as soon as possible.

In a statement, the force said: "Detectives are appealing for information after two puppies were stolen during a burglary in Runcorn.

“We are committed to doing all that we can to trace the men responsible and have the pets returned to their rightful owners.
