Burglars scale fence and break into Brad Pitt’s home while he’s in London for ‘F1: The Movie’

Thieves broke into a Los Angeles home of Brad Pitt, going through the house and causing damage while he was away. Law enforcement sources said the break-in happened around 10:30 PM on Wednesday. At least three people were involved in the incident at Pitt’s home in the Los Feliz area. The burglars climbed over the security fence around the property and then broke a window to get inside.

Once inside, they caused a lot of disruption, making “a real mess” and going through Pitt’s things. They carefully searched the actor’s belongings, looking for valuable items to steal. Officials did not immediately disclose what was taken or its value. Pitt’s home, known as the Steel House, is a Midcentury Modern-style house and is one of several properties the movie star owns.

According to the LA Times, at the time of the break-in, Brad Pitt was not at his Los Angeles home. He had been in London on Monday night for the European premiere of F1: The Movie, which he attended with Tom Cruise. His absence during the burglary fits a pattern seen in celebrity break-ins in the Los Angeles area, where homes are often targeted when their famous owners are away.

Brad Pitt’s home was robbed while he was away

Police are currently investigating the burglary at the F1 actor’s home, with law enforcement sources confirming details of the incident on Thursday. A Los Angeles police spokesperson confirmed the Wednesday night break-in at a home in the Los Feliz neighborhood, though they did not name the homeowner.

The burglary at Brad Pitt’s home is the latest in a series of similar crimes that have affected wealthy areas and high-end neighborhoods in Los Angeles and Southern California in recent years. These burglaries have often targeted VIPs and celebrities, and there was even a movie about one crime ring. For example, in early February, the home of Olivier Giroud, a French soccer player for Los Angeles FC, was broken into by thieves. In that case, a large amount of jewelry and watches worth $500,000 was stolen.

Also, on Valentine’s Day, the Los Angeles home of actor Nicole Kidman and musician Keith Urban was burglarized, adding to the growing list of celebrity victims. Authorities have said that South American theft gangs are a major concern, frequently targeting wealthy areas of Los Angeles. This trend of South American crime groups traveling to Southern California specifically to commit thefts and robberies started about six years ago, and law enforcement has been working to stop it.
