Burglars ransack apartments in South Shore: police

Police are warning residents about a series of apartment burglaries since last month in South Shore.

In each case, someone entered an apartment through a side window and “rummaged through property,” according to a community alert from Chicago police. Nothing was reported missing.

The burglaries were reported:

  • Between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Feb. 18 in the 7100 block of South Luella Avenue;
  • At 11:09 p.m. Feb. 29 in the 7200 block of South Oglesby Avenue; and
  • Between 10 p.m. Feb. 29 and noon March 1 in the 7200 block of South Paxton Avenue.

No suspect description was available, police said.
