Burglars hit East Belfast home while man and young girl inside

Burglars struck an East Belfast property while a man and young girl were inside, say police.

Four men are reported to have entered the home at Sandhill Park around 6.15pm on Monday (November 2) before making off with cash and other items.

The PSNI is appealing for information about the incident.

Detective Sergeant Natalie Moore said: "At around 6:15pm, it was reported that four men gained entry to a house in the area. It was reported a man aged in his 60s and a young girl were inside the property at the time of the incident.

"Two of the men kept the man and young girl downstairs, while the other two searched the house.

"It was reported the men then made off with a sum of money and other items following the incident. Both the man and the young girl were not injured, but left badly shaken.

"The men are described as being approximately 5”9 in height, of medium build and dressed in dark clothing. They are all believed to have worn hats and scarfs, with only their eyes visible.

"Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident, and police would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 1619  02/11/20. A report can be made using the online reporting form via  www.psni.police.uk/makeareport.
