Burglars broke into a flat at midnight and 'chased the occupant away'

Police are hunting burglars who are said to have broken into a flat at midnight and then chased the occupant out of the property.

A number of men broke into the flat above Kitchens Direct on Manchester Road in Oldham at about 11.55pm yesterday.

Police closed the road and began an investigation into the incident.

The occupant has told officers he was chased by the burglars - he has not reported any injuries.

Two windows of the business downstairs were also damaged during the raid.

Pictures from the scene showed police officer at the location.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers were called to reports of a burglary on Manchester Road, Oldham, at about 11:55pm on 24 August 2021.

"The male victim reported a number of men had broken into his flat and then chased him.

"Windows have also been broken in the business below.

"No injuries were reported and enquiries are ongoing."
