Burglaries reported in Humboldt Park: police

In two of these incidents, the offender took property after breaking a door or window to gain access to the apartment, police said.

Police are warning Humboldt Park residents to maintain working alarm systems following four burglaries in May and June on a single block in the Northwest Side neighborhood.

In two of these incidents, the offender took property after breaking a door or window to gain access to the apartment, according to a community alert from Chicago police. In another burglary, the person tried to kick in the door but was unsuccessful, and in a fourth incident, the person forced their way into the apartment and damaged several things without taking property.

All the burglaries happened in the 3400 block of West Franklin Boulevard, police said. They took place between May 22 and June 2 at all times of day.

Police did not offer a description of the burglar.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
