Burglaries reported in Chicago Lawn: police

6500 Block of S. Washtenaw Avenue

Four burglaries reported this month in Chicago Lawn prompted a community alert from police.

Police are warning Chicago Lawn residents to keep their windows and doors locked following four burglaries reported this month on the Southwest Side.

In all incidents, someone breaks into the residence and takes a number of items, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The burglaries happened:

  • About 4:27 p.m. May 11 in the 2500 block of West Marquette Road
  • About 3 a.m. May 16 in the 6600 block of South Campbell Avenue
  • About 1:15 p.m. May 18 in the 6500 block of South Claremont Avenue
  • About 11:15 p.m. May 20 in the 6500 block of South Washtenaw Avenue

Police did not offer a description of the alleged burglar.

Anyone with information about these burglaries should call Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380.
