Burglar who ransacked home stole 15 pet pythons, cash and keys before escape

A burglar who broke-in to a house left with a group of 15 pythons in a holdall without being caught.

The robber made off with the snakes along with a sum of money and keys after escaping without being caught on Saturday morning December 11 from 7.30am to 10.30am.

It is not yet known if the break-in was targeted in order to steal the snakes from the house, however, the culprit is understood to have forced entry and left a mess behind before exiting with the reptiles.

The pythons have individual markings on their scales, which the owner has informed police of, meaning they should be relatively easy to identify if found.

The snakes were snatched from the property in Horne Close, Hillmorton, Rugby and cops believe they would have been placed into the holdall and taken through nearby Watts Lane cemetery.

Warwickshire Police is appealing for members of the public who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time of the break-in to call them on 101, quoting incident number 137 of 11 December.

According to Coventry Live, information can also be passed to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestopperd-uk.org.
