Burglar uses pry tool to break into Ukrainian Village homes: police

Police are warning Ukrainian Village residents about a string of residential burglaries last month.

In each case, someone used a pry tool to break into the rear doors of homes and steal property from within, Chicago police said.

The burglaries happened:

  • Between 7 p.m. and midnight Nov. 14 to 15 in the 900 block of North Damen Avenue;
  • At 11:30 a.m. Nov. 18 in the 2200 block of West Chicago Avenue;
  • Between 5:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Nov. 25 in the 800 block of North Leavitt Street;
  • At midnight Nov. 27 in the 900 block of North Wood Street; and
  • At 2 p.m. Nov. 30 in the 900 block of North Wolcott Avenue.

No suspect description was available, police said.
