Police are warning residents about a pair of garage burglaries reported since September in Andersonville and Edgewater on the North Side.

In each case, someone entered a garage through an unlocked door or pried open the door before stealing property from within, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The first break-in happened about 6 p.m. Sept. 26 in the 1600 block of West Summerdale Avenue, police said. Another occurred about 9:15 p.m. Oct. 5 in the 5900 block of North Paulina Street.

The suspect in the Paulina burglary was described as a man between 20 and 25 years old wearing a black Chicago Bulls baseball cap, a black jacket, tan pants and white gym shoes, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
