Burglar stole money, purse and bank cards as CCTV appeal released

Police have released CCTV of a man they wish to speak to after a burglary in Rainford.

A suspect broke into Bridge Farm on News Lane, on Friday, April 14. They took money, a purse and bank cards in the early hours.

Officers said that no threats were made during the burglary. CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing with detectives now issuing images of a man they believe could assist with their investigation.

Detective Inspector Tracey Martin said: "Burglaries and theft from a business is not a victimless crime as they have a huge impact on the community in many ways, especially small businesses trying to make an honest living. We are determined to find the offender so that other businesses are not targeted in future.

"I am appealing for the man featured in these images, or anyone who recognises him to come forward. We believe he could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries. We also encourage people to come forward if you know anything about the incident which will help with our investigation.

"Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact @MerPolCC on Twitter or ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook with reference 23000315350. You can also pass information via Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
