Burglar enters Lake View homes through windows: police

Two burglaries were reported in Lake View between July 1 and July 15, 2019.

Chicago police are advising Lake View residents to secure their windows after two burglaries were reported in the North Side neighborhood.

In each incident, the burglar entered the home through a window and stole property before fleeing, Chicago police said.

The first burglary occurred about 1:30 a.m. July 1 in the 1100 block of West Newport Avenue and the second happened between July 7 and July 15 in the 800 block of West Cornelia Avenue, police said.

The suspect in one burglary was described as a 5-foot-9 man between 25 and 30 years old and weighing between 170 and 185 pounds, police said.

Anyone with information about these burglaries is asked to call Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
