Burglar crawls through tiny gap after stealing £1000 worth of alcohol

Police have released footage of a burglar squeezing through a tiny gap in a smashed window after snatching nearly £1000 of alcohol.

The thief is seen pushing alcohol-filled bags through the window before making his quick escape.

Police are appealing for any information on the man (South Yorkshire Police)

Two men reportedly smashed the window of the Lidl store in Mexborough, Doncaster, shortly after 8pm on November 3.

A member of the public snapped the footage before police were called to the store on Cliff Street at 8:15pm.

The pair are said to have pinched £977 worth of booze.

Officers in Doncaster are now appealing for any information on the man.
