Burges Salmon has appointed employee incentives and remuneration specialist Nigel Watson today as a corporate partner to lead its Employee Incentives team in Edinburgh.
He was previously a partner at Brodies, based in its Edinburgh office, where he established and led the firm's employee benefits practice.
Watson advises companies and owner-managed businesses on employee share ownership, tax-effective reward structures and remuneration design and execution.
He has experience in all aspects of the design, implementation and operation of equity incentive plans both domestic and overseas, as well as advising remuneration committees on management incentive issues.
Watson commented: “The firm has an impressive portfolio of clients, and since May 2019, is making a name for itself in the Scottish market with its flexible, can-do, commercial approach. It’s a very exciting time to be joining the firm.”
Burges Salmon launched in the capital during May 2019.
Watson's UK-wide practice will see him focus on advising clients across some of the firm’s key strategic areas, including financial services and private equity.
