Burgers and beer restaurant Hub Box to open Cardiff venue

The burgers and beer restaurant chain Hub Box is to opening its venue in Cardiff.

Hub Box Cardiff will be opening its doors on Monday, November 9 in Mermaid Quay, Cardiff Bay.

The Cardiff site is the ninth for the chain that originated in Cornwall. Hub Box has expanded in the South West since opening its first site in St Ives eight years ago. The Cardiff restaurant is its first in Wales.

Hub Box says it is aiming to bring a fresh, street food style dining experience to Cardiff Bay.

The company is working with Newport brewery Tiny Rebel to offer a revolving range of IPA's, stouts and lager.

Hub Box CEO, Richard Boon, said: "Welsh roots run deep here at Hub Box - with my wife, Amy, growing up in Cwmbran.

"Ever since my first visit to Cardiff Bay, I knew that the waterfront location – which is basically in our DNA – would suit us perfectly.

"We're looking forward to welcoming Welsh customers old and new, with many of you knowing us from holidaying down in Cornwall."
