Burger King trolled by diners for its new 'innovative' burger

Bosses at Burger King recently shared news they were trialling a new meal in New Zealand.

But since the release, diners up and down the UK have been mocking the fast-food chain's 'innovative' dish for being nothing more than a chip butty.

During its promotion, the takeaway giant released images of the 'new burger' consisting of a sesame seed bun crammed with fries, and topped with lashings of mayo and ketchup.

Scores of customers took to Twitter to express their amusement, reports Manchester Evening News.

"Americans have discovered the chip butty," joked one Twitter user.

Another said: "Oh dear, have they "invented" something that already exists again... I've just got over the sausage roll debacle.."

"Don't tell them about adding crisps," joked somebody else.

A fourth chipped in: "A chip butty. You've invented a chip butty."

"It’s a chip butty. Sorry BK but the UK had the drop on this much, much earlier (home made and everything)," said yet another amused shopper.

I can only imagine what the reaction will be like when they discover chips and curry sauce.
