Burger King restaurant to open on Welsh holiday park

Burger King has announced that they will be partnering with a new franchisee in hospitality group Parkdean Resorts.

The UK’s largest holiday park operator has recently invested £3.6m in Trecco Bay Holiday Park in Porthcawl, which will be the location of the brand-new Burger King site.

The new restaurant is part of a major makeover of the site which if one of Parkdean Resort’s seven ‘Parks of the Future’.

It has created 20 new jobs and will open in August.

Alasdair Murdoch, CEO of Burger King UK, said: “We’re excited to welcome a new franchisee and look forward to the partnership ahead of us.

"It’s brilliant to see expansion within the hospitality industry after what’s been a trying time, and we wish the best of success to the Trecco Bay Holiday Park venture.”

Steve Richards, chief executive of Parkdean Resorts, said: “We’re always looking to improve our food and drink offer, and Burger King opening at Trecco Bay will be a great addition for our guests on park to enjoy.

“We know how important the park is to the economy in Porthcawl and take our role as a major local employer very seriously, so we’re pleased to be able to provide more jobs for the community."
