Burger King reopens restaurants in Glasgow and Aberdeen

Burger King has announced restaurants in Aberdeen and Glasgow will reopen as part of its phased comeback plan during the pandemic.

The fast food chain was forced to close a number of Scottish stores due to local lockdown measures.

Now two more restaurants will be back serving food for dine-in and takeaway customers.

The location of the Burger King stores reopening this week are Aberdeen's Union Street and Glasgow's Buchanan Street.

Although customers won’t be able to access the full Burger King menu, favourites such as the Chicken Royale, Bacon Double Cheeseburger and Whopper are all available to order.

Burger King has put in a number of safety and hygiene measures for staff and customers in order for restaurants to reopen safely.

These include additional PPE such as masks and gloves for staff, strict cleaning measures and contactless delivery options via Deliveroo and Just Eat.

Burger King staff have also been trained on the government's latest social distancing measures – including how to run kitchens hygienically.

Soco Nunez, Communications Director at Burger King UK comments said: “We are so pleased to be able to open more restaurants this week and slowly but surely get back to ‘normal’, ensuring all safety measures are in place.”
