Burger King launches 'anti-Happy Meals' including one called DGAF

Burger King has introduced a range of mood-themed meal deals because “no one is happy all the time”.

In a move widely seen as a dig at the rival McDonald’s Happy Meal, Burger King has introduced a range of what it calls Real Meals, which include the Pissed Meal, the Blue Meal and the YAAAS Meal at selected stories in the US.

A statement read: “Burger King restaurants understands that no one is happy all the time. That’s why they’re asking guests to order a Whopper meal based on however they might be feeling.”

The deal, which also comes as a Salty Meal and a DGAF (don’t give a f***) Meal, comprises a Whopper, fries and a drink. It is Burger King’s contribution to Mental Health Awareness Month and comes in collaboration with Mental Health America (MHA).

“With the pervasive nature of social media, there is so much pressure to appear happy and perfect,” Burger King’s statement read. “With Real Meals, the Burger King brand celebrates being yourself and feeling however you want to feel.”

Paul Gionfriddo, chief executive officer of MHA, said: “While not everyone would think about pairing fast food and mental health, MHA believes in elevating the conversation in all communities in order to address mental illness.”

Burger fans can get their hands on the limited edition meals at select stores in Seattle, New York City, Los Angeles, Austin and Miami.
